What is the etiquette for running a social media page? Is there even an etiquette? What should I look out for ? We are now in this new era where social media sells products faster than word of mouth. The way you brand yourself and show your product is of the utmost importance now. With social media, you want to come off friendly, yet sophisticated, as we are all maneuvering this new venture of our life.
Here are my Top 3 Do’s and Don’t Tips for Social Media Business Pages.
DO separate your business and your personal page. Your business page is the first impression that you will make with potential customers. Make sure to keep your business instagram page as up to date as possible to let your customers know what you are working on.
DO post regularly and read the room at the same time. Meaning understand the content as well as understand the customer all while including your own aesthetic. Your brand truly is a reflection of you at the end of the day.
Ask yourself :
DO interact with your followers. That can easily be with polls , questions, and engaging with the customers by doing giveaways. Engagement is the key to a successful business page. You want to direct as much traffic as possible to your page.
That doesn't mean you ask them to do a million things !!!!!
DON'T overflow and spam your followers with too much content and information all at once. After a while it all looks the same and they’ll just scroll past without taking time to truly read the post.
DON'T ignore their comments, questions, and messages ! Answer it in a timely fashion.
DON’T post information you have not thoroughly researched and have a clear understanding for. It is easy to spread false information and narratives on social media and we should all avoid doing that.
DON'T stray away from your brand and post content that has no relation to what you are promoting. It’ll confuse your customers on what your reach exactly is.
