It can take a lifetime to create a legendary brand. Yet, Christine Michel Carter did it in 13 years, even while being a single mom. Owning the title, “#1 Global Voice for Moms” came, organically to Christine.
Graduating college with marketing experience in the retail and consulting space, helped her cultivate the future she wanted for herself. She had dreams of turning her marketing consultations into something HUGE!
Starting off with small businesses in the Baltimore area gave Christine an opportunity to grow her brand marketing skills as well as grow businesses to become profitable. Then, the infamous recession hit. Many small businesses were hurt from it, shrinking the clientele Christine had built connections with.
Losing clientele because of the recession was one thing, but now trying to find a job during the recession, was another. After experiencing such challenges, Christine received a job offer to work at a startup. Impressed with Christine’s work, they wanted her to come in as the new Marketing Manager and Economic Development Liaison in efforts to become profitable in the city of Baltimore. In addition to successfully establishing the Baltimore location, Christine helped grow the market in Boston, Paris, and Barcelona. The secret behind it all? Her array of marketing skill and truly knowing how to speak to the target audience.
Not only did Christine excel in help building a startup, but her writing was, indeed, taking off. In an industry where it may seem like things happen overnight, it does not! This is especially true for writing & media. “I write with emotion and right from my gut”, emphasized Christine. She goes on to say,
“I just wanted to make sure my writing was strong; the content was great and made sure it spoke to my target audience, authentically.”
Recognizing the various aspects to growing a business, Christine recognized that affiliate marketing, blogging, and pitching to national publications can contribute to building your brand and funds (which solves so many business concerns). This is still relevant for everyone passionate about pushing a narrative to build impact.
This form of Charming Marketing has even led to the anticipated launch of her book “Can Mommy Go to Work?”, which was to shed light on Mom’s who are experiencing the challenges of work-life balance.
